Things Your Eye Color Can Say About You

While it might not seem like your eye color would have a huge impact on your life (and honestly, it doesn’t), somewhat scientific attempts at linking eye color to personality traits have been moderately successful. It’s hard to get really shocking results when it turns out about four out of five people have brown eyes, but that’s never stopped science before.

Grains of salt notwithstanding, let’s take a look at some things that your eye color might be able to tell you about yourself. Or about others.

Trustworthy

People with brown eyes (which is, again, about 80% of the population) were found to be more trustworthy, intelligent, and kind. So either most people are really friendly, or people are just bad at judging how trustworthy someone is.

Creative

Creativity seems to be mostly linked to green eyes. Don’t forget, this mostly means that people perceive green-eyed people as creative, that doesn’t actually mean that people with green eyes are the creative geniuses of their time.

Pressure

People with hazel eyes seem to do well under pressure. They’re also generally quite passionate people, especially when it comes to their work.

Mental Stability

Now a factor that we can actually measure in numbers: men with light brown eyes were found to have more psychiatric issues. No clue why or how, but the numbers are what they are. So remember, ladies, don’t trust the light brown-eyed ones!

Sweetness

People with blue eyes are generally perceived as being sweet and attractive. Sadly, they’re by far the eye color that we consider to be the least intelligent.

Trying New Things

When it comes to trying new things, blue-eyed people scored the absolute best. They’re generally more confident and expressive, meaning they’ll seek out new experiences more actively than other people.

Optimism

When it comes to looking positively into the future, green-eyed people score the best. They’re the optimists of the bunch and generally feel like everything will work out okay in the end. This even means they’ll set life goals more frequently than people with other eye colors.

Pain Tolerance

Weirdly enough, different eye colors even show different things when looking at pain tolerance. Tested by observing women during and after childbirth, it turns out that women with lighter-colored eyes tolerated pain better than women with darker colored eyes. Not just that, but they were generally happier after giving birth as well.
