Have you ever heard of the aardwolf? If the answer’s no, then read on and enjoy all the cuteness below.
Believe it or not, these animals come from the same family as the hyena, but unlike their scavenger cousins, aardwolves only eat termites, like an aardvark.
Native to the east and south of Africa, they live in underground burrows.
Interestingly, they don’t dig any of the burrows themselves, and instead, they inhabit the abandoned burrows of other animals.
They are nocturnal creatures during most seasons other than winter where they sleep in the night.
They are monogamous creatures and stay with the same partner for their whole lives, they are also very family orientated.
They have long sticky tongues used to catch all those little termites, one aardwolf can eat 300,000 in a single night.
They are one of few animals where the adults are as cute as the children.
Adult aardwolves can grow to the same size as a regular fox.
