Cracked heels are a very common problem for many of us. Even with proper hygiene and regular hydration, heels tend to crack, mostly because of lack of vitamins during some periods of the year.
Though this is not necessarily a health condition, but more of a cosmetic problem, it can be painful from time to time. Not to talk about the holes in the socks they often cause!
Here are some of the most common factors that can cause cracked heels and peeling of the toes:
- Dry air
- Lack of skin care
- Inappropriate hygiene products
- Poor diet and lack of certain vitamins
- Spending too many hours standing
- Aging and lack of elastin and collagen in your skin
A study shows that with certain and more serious health issues, such as thyroid disorder, eczema, psoriasis and diabetes, cracked heels could get worse.
In this article we are presenting a completely natural, easy and cheep solution to treat this! Here’s a recipe for a home-made lotion that will heal your cracked heals in no time.
Ingredients:
- Socks
- A large lemon
Moisturizing cream you have around the house
First of all, cut the large lemon in half and cover your heels with both pieces, gently and slowly squeezing out the juice from the lemon.
Make sure the juice doesn’t get out, but goes directly in your pores. Put socks over them and let it act for about an hour. Or, you can just fall asleep and take the lemons out of your socks the next morning. After that, apply the moisturizing cream or even better, some coconut or almond oil, or some similar type of oil that you have around the house.
The lemon has the ability to remove dead skin cells, and the best thing about this simple solution is that you don’t have to bother scrubbing your heels off with a stone and losing time in the bathtub.
Repeat it 2-3 times in a week for a perfect smooth skin. If you manage to get rid of the cracked heels, make sure to don’t stop caring about your feet and always take care of them.
Remember, there is treatment, and there is also – Prevention.
Stay in good health and keep your good looks!
